I saw these two shepherds at a small agricultural fair on the Isle of Harris, in the Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. The crofting way of life continues for many in the highlands and islands. The treeless landscape, with muted colors and the aroma of peatsmoke in the air, inspired this 6.2" x 3.75" engraving, my most popular print. |
