This print was commissioned by
William Peck of the Oberlin College Alumni Association for
use during the college's 2001 Commencement Weekend. Peters
Hall, an example of American Gothic architecture, was
described as "the most perfect college building in the
United States" at its dedication in 1887. Slated for
demolition a few years ago, Peters Hall was saved by a
coalition of concerned alumni. I am a 1970 graduate of
Oberlin, a liberal arts college in northern Ohio. The
woodblock measures 5 x 7 inches.
