Enjoy the lively sound of traditional jigs, reels, marches, and waltzes performed by Randy Miller on fiddle and piano, accompanied on guitar by long-time contra dance instrumentalist Tom Hodgson and Irish session veteran David Loney, with special guest Will Miller on bodhran.
The CD contains 35 tunes from Randy's book, The Fiddler's Throne. Irish, Canadian, Scottish, and New England tunes are included as well as several of Randy's own compositions crafted in the melodic contra dance style.
Randy's 'New Hamptic' fiddling style (to coin a phrase!) combines elements of Irish ornamentation and Cape Breton bowing with New Hampshire drive. He also plays melody piano on several tracks, inspired by Irish pianists Eleanor Kane Neary and Josephine Keegan.
